BIOGRAPHY OF PARIS TSENIKOGLOU
"Paris Tsenikoglou is undoubtedly one of the outstanding talents of his generation" (Andreas Groethuysen). The prize-winning Greek pianist repeatedly earned rave reviews from the international press about his performances and his discography. The Süddeutsche Zeitung described him as "Beloved of the Gods" and "a miraculous discovery".
He performs in famous venues such as Herkulessaal of the Munich Residence, Beethoven-Haus Bonn, Pforzheim Theater, Großer Saal Mozarteum Salzburg, Congress Innsbruck, Saint-Merry in Paris, Auditorio Victor Villegas Murcia and Thessaloniki Megaron.
As a soloist, he collaborated with the Munich Symphony Orchestra, the Bad Reichenhall Philharmonic, the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of the Region of Murcia, the Sándor Végh Institute Orchestra of Salzburg, the Innsbruck University Orchestra, the South Bohemian Chamber Philharmonic, the Niš Symphony Orchestra and others.
He made many recordings with the Bavarian Broadcasting Company, the German Radio and the National Radio of Spain. His debut album “Debussy: Images - Chopin: Préludes” is released by Oehms Classics with great success on the most popular classical music radios.
Paris Tsenikoglou is winner of the 1st Steinway Promotion Prize in Munich, the 1st Mozart Prize of the Mozarteum University Salzburg and the ClaMo Music International Piano Competition in Murcia. He was a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation, the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich, the Rotary Club of Munich-Martinsried and the Oscar and Vera Ritter Foundation Hamburg.
As a piano pedagogue, he teaches at the Music School of Innsbruck and he taught at the State Music School of Upper Austria. He gave piano masterclasses at the ClaMo Music Academy in Murcia and at the Municipal Conservatories of Katerini and Kavala in Greece.
He was born in Thessaloniki, Greece. At the age of 15 he obtained the Piano Diploma with 1st Prize and Distinction for Virtuosity as a student of Yannis Adamidis at the Conservatory of the City of Katerini. He continued his studies as a junior student with Prof. Franz Massinger at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich, where he graduated with the Artistic Piano Diploma in the class of Prof. Thomas Böckheler. Furthermore, he completed with distinction the Master "Piano Solo Training" and the Postgraduate piano studies with Prof. Jacques Rouvier at the University Mozarteum Salzburg. Besides this, he received artistic guidance of renowned pianists like Murray Perahia and András Schiff.
